From sketch to realization
At the request of Stadshaven Brewery's marketing department, KeyMerch designed a unique tap handle, fully inspired by the brewery's identity and their iconic octopus mascot.
Stadshaven Brewery wanted a tap handle that was not only functional, but also reflected the brand's core values and mascot. Our product designer developed the design from the ground up, with a special focus on the recognisable octopus tentacles. After a series of sketches, a 3D model was created, which ultimately led to a cast mold and a realistic sample.
This unique tap handle is an eye-catcher on taps in restaurants throughout the Netherlands and provides a remarkable brand experience when serving Stadshaven beer.
The tap handle is designed with ergonomics in mind to make it comfortable to hold for daily use, and made of sturdy polyresin to ensure durability. The integration of the octopus tentacles makes it an iconic item that contributes to the familiarity and unique identity of Stadshaven Brewery.
The creative and functional design, which focuses on the octopus mascot with its tentacles, makes the tap handle a powerful symbol of the Stadshaven brand. This unique look attracts the attention of guests and reinforces the brand experience within the hospitality industry.
